On the positive side Jerry Greaves completed the full race at Lime Rock in his Emeryson. He
complained that the muffler zapped the power of the J.A.P.
Denis McKenna's Mk IV has a killer new rear sprocket and chain and a stronger gearbox
mount. We backed down the compression and rolled the cams to fire the rear 310 degrees
after the front rather than 50 degrees before. It should run more like a twin the a gigantic
single.
Great strides have been made with the Texas Mk XI and we hope to have it ready for
Pittsburgh.
We completed the "MonsterStarter" to be able to start the Carlhiem twin. It has a 400cc
engine, a heaver chain, bigger clutch and shorter gearing. The prototype starter has passed
along to Phil Lamont along with a new quickjack.

York. He plans to fit a Manx longstroke and compete actively. He is also
trying to draw some of his motorcycle buddies into the class.

Some more cars maybe changing hands, more later.

So far it looks like we have eight cars for Pittsburgh. Jerry say 10 for our own
race! Come on guys lets get those cars out
I received the sad news that FIII has lost another member. On the second of
and motorcycles was the oldest Cooper FIII in the  country, A Mk II from the first
production run. The world has lost a charming and delightful person.

Joe Freeman told me that his ex Shep Oliver Cooper will be at Pittsburgh this
year! We are still a few cars short of our own race, so lets stand up and be

is a different foundry and would have to wait until after this run is cast. Rear
uprights and drum brake third members will be available shortly in
magnesium.

I found a foundry to do the Cooper wheels. Price will depend largely on the
number of orders. The range will be $1,100 to $1,600. I plan to initially cast

Lime Rock on the first of May in his Cooper Mk XI - JAP. Fredd and I will be in
attendance to fettle the car.

We now have all of the late Cooper frame brackets programed for the mill.
Watch "Fredd's Mk XI" page, we're making a pair of ft upright and stainless
pedals (+ stainless a arms.) Also watch "Work in Process" page as we are
building a fuel tank complete with original NOS Enots filler ( i have four more
fillers) to accept an alcohol proof fuel cell.

Let me know when you send in your entry for PIttsburgh and I mark it on the
entry page. I just had a call from a feller in Detroit who is coming down just to
see the Formula III's run, let's put on a great show for him and all the other's
who love the smell of burning Castrol. Willie Gadwa, a national champion in
the sixties, will be coming and I propose we make him Honorary Grand
Marshalof the FIII's.
We recently aquired and
restored to function a '30s Van
Norman valve grinder and a
'50s Barrett brake shoe grinder.
We have a new "Cooper Addict", Jamie Waters passed his driver's
qualification at Lime Rock this past weekend.
